Welcome to Kirks Gym

This club is based on the concept of attaining functional fitness. The workouts are rarely repeated and the session plan rarely revealed before the session begins. We encourage uncertainty. This group is formed as a support basis for the events that take place during Kirks gym sessions. All workouts are run to achieve the highest performance from each member. The workout environment is not conducive to sitting around and this is a condition we all pursue. We are here to learn about our selves and from each other. Everyone has something to offer and we aim to add this to the pool of knowledge from which Kirks grows. The emphasis is on the intensity of training in the presence of a solid knowledge basis. We do not encourage injury, we do encourage a considered, intelligent approach to ones own training. All who believe that this style of training appeals to them are free to offer themselves to the group. All members will take full responsibility for their actions. In this increasingly litigious society we encourage anyone attending any Kirks Gym session to realise that moving heavy things in a dynamic and sometimes ballistic way carries inherent risks.
